Gender differences in children"s mobile phone dependency and psychological well-being

Abstract
This study examined that the effect of children¡¯s mobile phone dependency on psychological well-being. Data were employed from KCYPS, and the participants were 1609(727 boys, 882 girls) elementary students (4th graders) who have mobile phone. The result showed that 1) high dependency on mobile phone negatively influenced children¡¯s psychological well-being; 2) the negative influence of mobile phone dependency on children¡¯s psychological well-being was significantly serious among girls than boys.
